Getting a Cheap iPhone 4 Without a Contract

by on February 16, 2011

Anyone who wants an iPhone knows that getting a cheap iPhone 4 can be a bit difficult, especially if you’re opting for the no-contract option. If you’re looking at the prices of this phone, you know that you could be paying up to $699 for a device that could be yours for more than half of that price if you get it with the contract, especially if you are purchasing from sites with no penny auctions. It’s up to everybody what their choice is for contract or not, but if you’re looking for the phone that you’ve been dreaming of, then you might not care how much you pay.

However, if you’re a little more realistic about what you can afford, or are willing to pay for a phone, then it’s worth checking out a site called Beezid where you can get the iPhone 4 at up to 90% off the regular price. It’s kind of a fun site where your enjoyment in bidding against other people on certain items could end up with you walking away with what can only be described as a steal of a deal on the item of your choice just by being the lucky winner.

Getting a phone this way allows you to get service for your phone without having to sign a contract. The good news here is that when you get service sans contract, you end up with a little bit of negotiating power that those who sign up for the contract don’t have. Because you’re not tied into something, you can request special deals from a carrier that will be looking to keep you as a customer, and because they know that they have to do a little more to keep you, you can sometimes end up with better deals on SMS messages, phone calls and even data plans.

The one thing that you will have to look out for is a plan that allows you to use a SIM card to get started. A SIM card is a Subscriber Identity Module that stores your personal identification number, or service-subscriber key, and allows you to put this card into literally any telephonic device that supports it. You could have multiple phones, or even multiple SIM cards, depending on how you want to go about treating your service.

For example, if you were to get a couple of different plans from different service carriers, you could use one for certain things and the other service carrier for the other functions that you perform with your phone. Either way, you could end up getting the best of both worlds. And being allowed to switch the card between phones gives you the freedom to use whatever device you feel is best at any given time.

However you choose to go about it, the one thing that you have to remember is that you are the customer, and in these days of contract options for phones, many service carriers are not willing to give much up in terms of price. But with no contract, you can get a much better deal.
