Today Verizon Wireless announced that it will soon offer the LG Vortex, its latest Android 2.2 Froyo smartphone.
The Vortex sports a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with the Swype virtual QWERTY keyboard pre-installed. It supports 3G Mobile HotSpot connectivity, which will allow it to share its 3G connection with other Wi-Fi enabled devices.
Users will be able to customize up to 7 different homescreens, one of Froyo’s features, and the phone also comes with pre-installed LG apps including My Status with Twitter, Facebook for LG. The phone is also capable of placing Skype calls over Verizon Wireless’ circuit switched network.
The Vortex offers a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, auto-focus, and video recording. Bluetooth 2.1 is also supported.
The Vortex’s default search engine is Bing Search and it also comes preloaded with Bing Maps.
